Happn Fake Profiles
Hello everyone
My team and I have been alerted of the increasing number of the fake profiles pretending to be me all around the social networks and dating sites/apps. This has been going on for years and all around the world and truth to be told there’s nothing much I can do about it. Facebook and Instagram are pretty much cooperative when it comes to closing the fake profiles. The dating sites/apps and other messaging services, I don’t really know anything about, so I can’t really react there so that’s why I am asking you to report any profile on any social network, dating site or app or any messaging service that is pretending/impersonating me, using my identity or my pictures under some false name.
The only official channels on Facebook and Instagram are the ones connected to this official site. Other than that any other profile is a fake one. That also means, I am not, never been on, and never will be on any dating sites or apps or messaging services. Please, don’t be fooled by any fake profile impersonating me contacting you as it has nothing to do with me. Report all those profiles to the site/app you are on; Facebook, Instagram or any dating sites/apps, messaging apps or even the authorities, if you feel you’ve been scammed by fake profiles using my identity.
Happn's fake dating profiles of bruised women might be a shock tactic - but we need it Happn and Equality Now are raising awareness about domestic violence I magine a horny twenty-something guy. Happn is really innovative in the way it lets one meet other users! People will only be shown members with a 250-meter radius, and the number of times you were close to each other in the last seven days. If the word NOW appears on a user’s profile, it means that the user is very close to you, without knowing the exact distance. Happn runs a high risk of numerous fake profiles because it does not conduct the verification of accounts. However, members can block or report abusive or suspicious profiles for security reasons. Your safety is a top priority for Happn administrators. It becomes quite hard for scammers and chatbots to register and stalk you with your verified Facebook account. The app frowns terribly at fake profiles and is looking for ways to prevent fraudulent activities. You can experience a deeper connection compared to other services. Like the profiles that catch your eye. If the feeling is mutual, it’s a Crush! The rest is up to you. Write to impress, get to know each other and meet up! We promise, no one will bother you! Happn users can only talk to one another if they have both Liked each other.
Since I’m a public person, I’m aware of the fact that my photos either on my social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Insta stories, Insta live) or published in the media (internet portals, magazines, various interviews, movie premieres, events etc.) are public and therefore easily taken and used for fake profiles and impersonation. The police in my country has already been aware of all this since it’s a problem that’s, as I said, been going on for years and years, around the world in various countries.
Important! Did you know that one in three women have been victims of physical or sexual abuse at some point in their lives? That’s how prevalent violence against women is all around the world.
A novel initiative by dating app Happn wants to expose violence against women, and we couldn’t be prouder about it.
Happn dating app has teamed up with Equality Now, a global nonprofit, and launched the “One in Three” campaign yesterday, as part of International Women’s Day to raise awareness about how many women are survivors of physical and sexual abuse.

Happn, which is a location-based dating app, connects users based on who they’ve crossed paths with. And it will include special profiles with battered and bruised women who have survived violence alongside real ones of other users on the app.
These fake profiles of bruised women are intended to showcase the fact that any woman, even one you’ve crossed paths with, could be a survivor of physical or sexual violence. Of course, not all abuse is apparent or leaves marks on the body, but this initiative is sure to throw light on the touchy yet very important subject of violence against women.
The pictures may seem too graphic or too in-your-face or too crude, but the fact remains that one in three women are survivors of violence. And there is no denying the fact that although it seems shocking, it is one way to clearly send out the message that women are still being abused.

In a press release, Yasmeen Hassan, global executive director of Equality Now, said,
“We hope that showing how enormous this problem is will inspire everyone to call on their governments to end all forms of violence against women. Countless commitments have been made, but they do not always translate to action.”

Happn Fake Profiles
When a regular male user of the dating app Happn encounters one of these survivor profiles, the profile image shows a battered woman, and as the user scrolls through the photos, they show her slowly heal.
Speaking about the partnership, Happn CEO, Didier Rappaport, said,
“Our primary purpose is to restore the missed connections in life. Making the connection between overlooked survivors of violence against woman and all the rest of us who otherwise pass them by every day is one of the greates services Happn can make (sic).”

Happn and Equality Now hope that this project will raise awareness about the prevalence of violence against women and nudge governments all over to take proactive action.
Speaking about the same, Hassan said,
“This International Women’s Day is yet another great opportunity for all governments to take a concrete step in this direction by reviewing their legislation and removing all laws that help perpetuate violence, or which discriminate, against women.”
The way in which Happn has gone about creating awareness might be shocking or even crude, but it sure has hit the nail on the head. And when we live in a world where it is still so unsafe and uphill a battle to be born female, this approach gets our approval.
